Values of 'role models'

October 23, 2019 00:00:00

That a member of parliament (MP) has used a lookalike to sit for an examination in Narsingdi has drawn attention of the global media. One who is supposed to set example for others, is found to be cheating and this has been a cause for serious concern. Already, there has been degradation in social values and an MP proves something which is more alarming. When one harbours greed and unjust ambition, it is exposed in public life. The MP has not only ruined her own position, she has also proved that she could not do better. It is time to review our individual values and then try to establish integrity at the national level.
