Voice to the voiceless
September 24, 2014 00:00:00
It is heartening to learn from a media report that Tariq Sayeed, a Bangladeshi born computer engineer in Canada has developed a device that has given voice to the deaf and the dumb; thus making them a part of normal daily life. Tariq's device through any lap-top or a smart phone can enable a deaf and dumb to communicate with others. The report said soon he will launch this device for customers. It is expected to cost around $100 only.
To begin with, such disadvantaged persons in USA and Canada will tremendously benefit. In the days to come, around 350 million deaf and dumb persons around the world would hopefully benefit from it. The Bangladesh government and other organisations concerned may take note of this development. I wish the gifted Bangladesh-born engineer gets due recognition he deserves.
