Wasteful expenditure

The traffic light operates in most of the road junctions in the capital city consuming electricity; but the traffic police are seen using manual signal.

Hundreds of coconut plants and lemon grafting have been planted along Hatirjheel-Sonargaon Hotel, but instead of nurturing them with fertiliser or healthy soil; bricks and sand have been dumped around many plants.

Dhaka City Corporation (South) built a six storied market in front of Ramna Model Thana several years ago, but the complex is yet to be started.

Many of the city corporation markets of Karwan Bazar are on the verge of collapse with tilting pillars, cracks on walls and even roofs. A high magnitude earthquake can cause extreme damage to property and loss of lives if the present condition of the market allowed to continue. These markets are hardly two to three decades old.

Let TIB or some other agency calculate the waste of the tax prayers' money and suggest appropriate punishment for the culprits.
