Wasting valuable time of students

I am glad that finally the government has noticed and asked the school authorities not to line up students on the streets to welcome any people's representative. It is indeed a praiseworthy step. Now, I hope this instruction will not be violated in future. Lining up students hinder their academic activities, and affects their bodies and minds, which is unexpected to everyone.

We see a flurry of extravagant programmes organised in the name of welcoming people's representatives, which are nothing but waste of time and valuable money of our state. The new government must reduce widespread corruption and rein in whimsical spending. It has many challenges to face in the coming days as it has not been elected through an all-inclusive election. So, every step they take will be scrutinised. The government has borrowed Tk 600 billion from the central bank in the last five years which is an unprecedented record in the history of Bangladesh. So, we have no way to waste our hard-earned money whimsically.
