'We are all Rohingya'

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and World Bank Group President Jim Young Kim visited Rohingya communities and humanitarian workers in Cox's Bazar district on Monday in a bid to boost donor support and pressurise Myanmar to create the right conditions for repatriation of the Rohingyas. Antonio Guterres emphasised the need for Myanmar to try the criminals who murdered and raped members of the Rohingya community, most of whom were forced to flee to Bangladesh. The WB President Jim Yong Kimon tweeted on Monday: "I am extremely humbled and moved by the courage of the Rohingya. We cannot turn our heads away. We stand in solidarity-today we are all Rohingya."
To provide shelter and other support to these Rohingya refugees, Bangladesh will also require more financial support from the international community. Bangladesh should work further to attract international media attention to Rohingya issue.
