When VIPs experience power outage

September 20, 2014 00:00:00

I was glad to know that recently four ministries in the secretariat experienced a four-hour long power outage. Now I hope they would know how the common people feel when they experience the same trouble day after day. When VIPs go out, they see no traffic jam and their homes are exempted from the load shedding or water shortage; so they do not know how the common people feel when they face those in their daily life. The leaders do not realise the hardships the common people go through due to hassles like power failure, gas shortage, insecurity and traffic jam.

The government must take a long-term plan to remove power shortage. The demand for electricity will increase with each passing day and we have to plan for generating power not only to meet up today's demand but that of tomorrow. Without generating adequate power we cannot think of achieving desired economic progress. The economy of our country is gradually emerging and soon the requirement of power will go few folds up. Due to frequent power outage, the industries cannot meet their production target, and thus face loss. It is sad that the country's leadership failed to give basic civic amenities-- water, gas and electricity to the common people. Thus the basic needs still remain a luxury for the common masses.
