Where is HR headed?

May 07, 2024 00:00:00

Initially, Human Resource (HR) was centered around hiring, training, processing payrolls, and policy making. In today's scenario, HR departments in organisations are dealing with more than just people management. The evolution of HR departments is now more focused on improving an operating system that propels the organisation's business towards success in the market.

The target of HR departments is now focused on delivering unique business value through strategic initiatives to the market by maintaining a skilled workforce through proper people analytics and making important decisions based on accurate business data. Sensing market opportunities and potential investors, understanding how customers view the organisation, and meeting their expectations, HR departments are focused on maintaining the quality of a skilled (or reskilled if needed) workforce within the organisation, which can serve as a differentiator in the market and create value for customers.

By combining the right people with the right skills to create efficacious values for organizations and targeting customers' needs by integrating technology (such as artificial intelligence) with human skills, HR departments are covering much more ground than before. Adapting to the ongoing changing needs of different eras, the roles of HR departments in every organisation are expanding every day!
