Why can't senior citizens get their pensions digitally?

An important part of our society is our senior citizens. However, many of them do not lead a life that can be called a happy one. Rather, we often come across senior citizens who have been abandoned by their children. One of the most painful sights one sees these days is that senior citizens are queuing up outside banks to collect their pensions. Barely able to walk, they have to come in person to get their pension money.

These elderly people, who have served this country with heart and soul, should be given respect and allowed to maintain their dignity. In this digital age, can we not come up with a system that prevents them from travelling great distances in harsh weather conditions only to receive a small amount of money?
