The World Cup cricket is about to take off and the cricket-loving world is bubbling with enthusiasm for the top players of the game to display their talents on the field. Bangladesh played a warm-up match against Pakistan and narrowly lost the match. But our players gained a lot of experience to motivate them to do better in the final round. The whole country is looking forward to the Tigers for quality performance. Expectations are particularly high about Shakib Al Hasan, world's number one all-rounder and our national pride.
I am sure, our opponents have already worked out their plans to tame our ace performer Shakib, as they know very well that half the battle is won if Shakib, as a batsman, can be dismissed cheaply and wickets are not lost against Shakib as a bowler. Bangladesh will start its tournament on 18th February and Afghanistan will be the first team it faces. We should be careful about not taking the new-kid-on-the-block Afghanistan lightly. The mega stage is all set and we are all looking forward to watching the Tigers adding new feathers to theirs caps.
