6-day furniture fair begins tomorrow

Furniture exporters are going to organise a six-day furniture fair for the first time tomorrow (Tuesday) at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the city. Bangladesh Furniture Exporters Association (BFEA) has decided to make 'Brand Furniture Fair 2011' a yearly event from now on to promote quality furniture for local and international buyers, said a statement Sunday. "The fair is organised with a vision to increase market awareness and create further demand. Local customers will enjoy the new designs and attractive discounts," said the statement. A total of 10 renowned furniture manufacturers and exporters of the country like Akhter, Otobi, Hatil, Brothers, Partex, Navana, Furnitech, Legacy, Nadia and Quality (Noksha) will participate in the fair out of 24 members of the exporters' association. "There are more members but all of them will not participate in this years' fair out of apprehension about the response. May be next year the fair will gain popularity," KM Akhteruzzaman, convener of BFEA, told the FE. - FE Report
