Army Institute of Business Administration, Sylhet: The venue for AXIOM 2026, a national-level research competition scheduled to be held on May 11
Army Institute of Business Administration, Sylhet, will host AXIOM 2026, a national-level research competition, on May 11, 2026. The event is designed as a scholarly platform for emerging researchers to present evidence-based, innovative work addressing real-world problems aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The primary objective of AXIOM 2026 is to foster a culture of critical inquiry and solution-oriented research among undergraduate students across Bangladesh. Unlike conventional paper presentation events, the competition emphasises the translation of academic research into actionable insights for policy, industry and community development. The organisers intend for it to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and applied problem-solving, thereby contributing to the broader national research ecosystem.
The competition is open to currently enrolled students from all accredited public and private universities, as well as affiliated colleges, in Bangladesh. Participants may register individually or in teams of up to three members, with each submission required to carry a faculty adviser's endorsement. Based on preliminary outreach data, the organisers anticipate participation from over 30 institutions, with more than 150 research abstracts expected to be submitted in total.
Submissions will undergo a double-blind initial review before finalists present before a multidisciplinary panel comprising PhD-level academics and industry experts drawn from finance, technology, development and corporate strategy. The evaluation process is structured to strengthen participants' research communication, methodological rigour and responsiveness to expert critique.
Beyond the competition itself, AXIOM 2026 is intended to serve as a national networking hub for student researchers. The organisers have scheduled dedicated poster sessions, mentorship roundtables and an innovation exchange where participants may connect with peers and professionals from across disciplines. Select high-quality papers may be recommended for publication in partner department journals or conference proceedings.
The organisers have stated that AXIOM 2026 is not merely a contest but a scholarly endeavour to cultivate research-led leadership among Bangladeshi youths. By integrating multiple academic and applied disciplines, the event encourages submissions that are methodologically sound, socially relevant and actionable, reinforcing Army IBA's commitment to academic excellence and evidence-based responses to pressing national and global challenges.
