Banglalink top boss named as Orascom CEO ****

Egyptian Orascom Telecom Holdi named Monday Ahmed Abou Doma as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Board of Directors of the company approved the appointment at a meeting. Since January 2009, Abou Doma, a long time member of the group, has been serving as the CEO of Banglalink, the second largest mobile phone operator in Bangladesh. Prior to this position, Mr Doma held the position of Marketing Director in Mobinil of Egypt since 2003. Earlier, he served the Mobinil as the Senior Market Manager for Planning and Development and Senior Manager for Market Strategy and Analysis. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Cairo University in 1992. He has received the "Telecom Business Planning Award" by the international Telecommunication Union (ITU) based in Switzerland. Expressing satisfaction with the appointment, Ahmed Abou Doma said his aim is to reach the company to a new height. Orascom Telecom is a leading international telecommunications company operating GSM networks in different countries. Orascom Telecom operates GSM networks in Algeria ("OTA"), Pakistan ("Mobilink"), Egypt ("Mobinil"), Bangladesh ("banglalink"), North Korea ("koryolink") and has an indirect equity shareholding in Globalive Wireless Canada ("Wind Mobile"). - FE Report
