The Second episode of CreADive, an inter university business communication and advertisement making business competition organised by Bangladesh University of Professionals' Communication Club (BUPCC), has been launched this month. The first round selected 24 teams for the second round after a day-long event on 3rd of October, 2015 in the premises of Bangladesh University of Professional (BUP), Dhaka.

The BUPCC organised the event at the BUP premises where 48 teams consisting of four members in each team participated. All the 24 teams qualified for the second round were from Dhaka based universities, said the organisers.

The 24 teams are selected from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Faculty of  Business Administration of Dhaka University, Faculty of Business Studies of North South University (NSU), Faculty of Business Studies of BRAC University,  Faculty of Business Studies of East West University (EWU), Faculty of Business Studies of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Institute of Business University of Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Army Institute of Business Administration (AIBA) and Faculty of Business Studies of United International University (UIU).

The participants started their day by attending a workshop on different approaches to solve business cases. Unilever Bangladesh product group manager Md Shadman Sadikin conducted the workshop. After the workshop all the teams solved a case and presented their solutions through a team presentation in front of a panel of judges. Professionals working in various multinational companies like Grameen Phone, Robi, Unilever, Reckit Benckiser and advertising agency Asiatic were present as the judges at different sessions of the competition.

BUPCC treasurer Maeesha Tahsin Mitul said, "The first round of the competition went very well. Teams from universities outside Dhaka had an active presence. Some of the solutions presented by the participating teams were very innovative and wowed the judges. It would be very interesting to see how these teams fare in the second round, where they will have to actually execute a BTL promotion campaign themselves."

The second round will be held on October 10, 2015. In the second round, the teams will  develop campaigns and integrated marketing communications plan along with a one-minute video that would support their campaign.

The selected 24 teams will again face a panel of judges who will select the top six teams for the grand finale. In every round there will be an interesting segment called the "Curveball" in which a task will be assigned to the participants without any prior announcement.

The aim of CreADive is to encourage creativity and competitiveness among young university students in the field of marketing communication strategy along with their talents in making advertisements.  CreADive is a new competition, and it has received appreciations from corporate elites and undergrad prodigies. Last year the competition was confined within universities of Dhaka city. This time it encouraged participation from teams outside Dhaka as well.

To be a participant of CreADive'15, students had to form teams of four and get registered through the clubs of their respective universities. These clubs are associated with CreADive and BUPCC. As the slots were limited for each university the teams had to go through a selection process in their own respective clubs. Even BUPCC conducted Intra-CreADive to select the top six teams from BUP who would represent BUP in Intra-CreADive.

The only criterion is that the members from same team would have to be from the same university. Students from different departments can also form cross-departmental teams as long as they are from the same university. Each and every member of the respective participating teams has to be present during all the phases of the competition.

The champion team of CreADiv'15 will receive a prize money of BDT 1,00,000 while the first runner-up and second runner-up teams would receive BDT 60,000 and BDT 40,000 respectively.

Sena Kalyan Sangstha is the main sponsor of the competition while Trust Bank is funding a portion of the prize money. The Financial Express, Prothom Alo,  Channel i and Radio Shadhin are media partners of the event.
