Ambassador of Germany in Bangladesh Holger Michael said good governance, energy and health issues will get priority in the development cooperation between Bangladesh and German.
He said this Monday in a function organised at his residence to welcome the members of the newly-elected board of Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI).
He said bilateral growth in trade and export is increasing fast between the two countries and good governance can boost up it further.
"We feel proud that Bangladesh-made ships are plying in the German sea due to their good quality," he said.
Sakhawat Abul Khair was elected the new president of BGCCI. He is managing director of Robintex Bangladesh Ltd.
The newly elected president said the BGCCI has become the biggest bilateral chamber in Bangladesh with 300 members.
He said image and branding problems are major road blocks to German investment in Bangladesh.
Former president of BGCCI Saiful Islam said Bangladesh should make an investment-friendly legal framework to attract foreign investment.
He said German investment reached half a billion dollar in 2011 with 30 per cent annual growth which could be raised further by removing legal barriers and ensuring security of investment.
