ICAB promoting financial management

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) is playing a vital role in improving the standards of financial management including accounting and auditing, corporate governance and other ethical issues in Bangladesh, said a press statement quoting the ICAB president. ICAB president Parveen Mahmud made the remarks while a delegation of the Institute led by her was making a courtesy call on commerce secretary Md Ghulam Hussain at the latter's office Wednesday. The ICAB president also gave a brief on some projects those already have been submitted to the commerce ministry for approval. The commerce secretary assured the ICAB delegation of attaching due importance to promote accountancy profession. ICAB vice presidents Md Abdus Salam and Md Shahadat Hossain and secretary NI Chowdhury accompanied the delegation. Joint secretary of the commerce ministry Md Showkat Ali Waresi and additional secretary ATM Murtozaa Reza Chowdhury also attended the occasion.
