ICT fair in city draws huge gathering on second day

The city ICT fair at the BCS Computer City drew a large number of tech savvy people on the 2nd day of the event on Friday.
The fair that will continue till March 23 is offering different kinds of digital devices including laptop, desktop and ICT accessories at somewhat low price than usual price. Some companies are also offering gifts with their products.
Acting secretary general of the Computer City NM Kamruzzaman said the fair always attracts the city people for availability of quality products with an attractive price.
He mentioned that people's response from the first day of the event was good and hopped that it would be continued.
Home Minister MK Alamgir inaugurated the fair on Thursday while Jahangirnagar University vice-chancellor Anwar Hossain was present as special guest.
About 160 organisations participating in the fair are displaying their latest products and services at an attractive price.
Special pavilions have been dedicated to showcase a whole range of ICT (information communication technology) products including computer hardware and software, network and data communication products, multimedia and learning materials, laptop, palmtop, etc.
The fair also has a Knowledge Management Zone which displays latest innovations and other ICT related topics for students and other ICT- loving people.
A number of seminars on various aspects of computer and ICT are taking place during the fair followed by special programmes like quiz competition, gaming competition, children's art competition, blood donation camp, etc.
The visitors have the opportunity to use free WiMax Internet service at the fair. Besides, BanglaLion Communications Limited has set up a free Wimax Zone on the fair premises for all visitors. The visitors will have a chance to win attractive prizes everyday at the raffle draw on their entrance tickets.
The Platinum Sponsor of the fair is BanglaLion Communications Limited while Asus, Kaspersky, Samsung and Xerox are gold sponsors.

The entry fee is 10 taka, but students will be able to enter the fair free of cost by showing their ID cards. People with disability will also be able to visit the fair free of cost.
