JAKARTA, Jan 12, 2012 (AFP) - Indonesia kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at six percent for a second month on Thursday, with inflation under control but amid worries about the impact of a global economic slowdown.
"The board of governors decided to keep BI's rate at six percent," Bank Indonesia (BI) governor Darmin Nasution told reporters in Jakarta.
He said it was "in-line with the effort to maintain stability of the monetary system and conducive to supporting expansion of the domestic economy amid uncertainty in the global economy."
