Entrepreneurs in Bangladesh are planning to invest in environment-friendly industrialisation by adopting green technology to cut pollution for a better life.
Along with existing developments in renewable energy, and shipbuilding a good number of industrialists are moving forward to adopt measures in green industrialisation.
Installation of more than 2.0 million solar home systems across the country are examples of introducing green energy in Bangladesh, said Formanul Islam, deputy executive director of the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL).
Mr. Islam told this while speaking as guest at a press conference in the city organised by ExpoNet Exhibition prior to a three-day International Greentrade Investment Bangladesh Summit & Expo Saturday.
Commerce minister Ghulam Muhammad Quader is expected to inaugurate the exposition to be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre from 12 to 14 March.
The conference coordinated by Arif Zoarder, managing director, ExpoNet was also represented by Bangladesh Indenting Association representative Altaf Hossain Bishwas, Architect Shahriar Iqbal Raj, Marine Architect Shamsul Alam and Bashundhara Cement representative Shamim Al Mamun.
The exhibition will be supported by IDCOL, BUET, Department of Architecture-BUET, Khan Brothers Shipbuilding, Bashundhara Cement, Pakistan renewable Energy Society and others.
Nearly 70 countries of the world are to showcase their products mainly in safe shipbuilding equipment, green construction materials, renewable energy equipment and other environment friendly different industrial products.
Apart from showcasing products, the organisers have also arranged different workshops in the exhibition regarding adoption of green technologies in manufacturing and building industrial products.
In the summit there would also be special exhibitions like 4th Solartech Bangladesh on renewable energy jointly ITN BUET, IDCOL and Architecture Department of BUET.
There would also be other special exhibitions named '2nd Greenbuild Bangladesh' on green construction and building and '3rd Marineteck Bangladesh' on safe shipbuilding.
The Bangladesh Indenting Association representative Altaf Hossain Bishwas said many the summit and exhibition will provide ideas about different green products under one roof.
The IDCOL deputy executive director Formanul Islam said his organisation has installed green energy based solar home systems in remote off-grid zones through the NGOs and with the foreign donor agencies financial supports.
Some of the many representatives in the exhibition are Bashundhara Cement, Navana Limited, Cityscape International Limited-Bangladesh, east Tech Solar-Spain Karl Storz Endoscopy India Pvt Ltd, Ningbo Hi-Tech Zone Ring Electronics Co Limited, Ningbo South New Energy technology Co. Ltd-China, Dalus Limited-UK, Team Tec AS-Norway and Jinko Solar-China.
