JMUN 2015 ends, enthusiasm remains

Jahangirnagar University Model United Nation (JMUN 2015) successfully ended on August 29, 2015 after having 3 days of diplomacy, alliance and celebration. Organised for the very first time, the event was a simulation of the United Nations assemblies offering a ground for the youths to learn and practice the art of diplomacy. Dealing with indispensable agendas of the co-current world, JMUN 2015 provided optimum solutions through the rising leadership of enthusiastic youths.

The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Farzana Islam, the honourable Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, the first ever woman Vice Chancellor in the history of Bangladesh. Other guests who ornamented the opening ceremony with their presence were M.Moniruzzaman, Officer in charge of UN Information Centre and Mohammed Mamun Mia, the President of UNYSAB. The Secretary General of JMUN 2015, Riyajul Karim, in his opening speech talked about the importance of youth leadership and welcomed everyone with warm gratification.

The conference consisted of 7 committees including GA-6, SAARC, UNSC, International Press etc. The resolution passed by each committee can contribute to solve the discussed problems which can also implement sustainable development. Apart from the committee sessions, cultural night also took place with the promising performance of the participants. The chief guest of the closing ceremony was parliament member MA Malek who discussed his opinion about United Nations and how things can be made flexible for the developing countries like ours. Later, he handed over awards to dais members and participants. With 9 awards one of the most successful delegations was BUP Global Affairs Council (BUPGAC).

Every ending is also a beginning of something! JMUN 2015 has ended but the enthusiasm which gets a new jump from it - will carry on and continue the legacy. Such youth gatherings will surely help Bangladesh to observe a prosperous generation, who are obviously the future of the country.
