Medicare item making plant opens in country

FE Report Mundipharma Group, a well-known global manufacturer of medical care products, has started its journey in Bangladesh by setting up a manufacturing plant aiming to introduce novel formulations in a wider array of therapeutic areas, said a release Wednesday. The plant spread across an area of over 10,000 sq metres has the capacity of manufacturing a wide range of formulations including tablets, ointments, solutions, creams and gargles. Mundipharma is present in different countries under different names. The group is known as Pudus Pharma in the USA, Napp in the UK and Mundipharma in the rest of the world, the release said. Mundiparma Bangladesh plant was dedicated recently by Dame Theresa Sackler, Mundipharma Group, and Umesh K Modi, chairman, Modi-Mundipharma at a dedication ceremony in Dhaka, where Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was present as chief guest. Mundiparma, a $4.4 billion global pharmaceutical giant, is recognised by many medical practitioners across the world as manufacturer of quality medical care products. Over 150 people have been employed in the sales and marketing division of the company at Gazipur, near Dhaka, which will be increased to 500.
