SME Tech Fair beginsin city today

FE Report A nine-day 'SME Technology Fair' will begin today (Sunday) at Bangladesh Handball Federation Covered Stadium in the city aiming at transferring or upgrading technology and providing expert services to Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, said a release. To be organsied by Industrial and Infrastructure Development Finance Company Ltd (IIDFC), some 40 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from India primarily from light engineering and other sectors will take part in the fair. Dr Mashiur Rahman, Finance Adviser to the prime minister will inaugurate the fair while Bangladesh Bank governor Atiur Rahman will be present as the guest of honour. The co-organisers of the fair are National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC), India, SME Foundation and Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs while the industries ministry and Bangladesh Bank will act as the patronizing body. Prospective and existing entrepreneurs will get the opportunity to look for new avenues and decide on investment in innovative SME enterprises towards self- employment as well as on site advice on financing facilities, the release added. The fair which will continue until October 16 will remain opened from 10:00 am to 6:00pm everyday.
