Tokai Ghar launches labour bazaar for street people

Dhaka Tokai Ghar Cooperative Samity Ltd has launched a 'labour Bazaar' Saturday to help the street people and also educate the street urchins locally known as Tokai.
Samity president Md Hasan Seikh while presiding over the inauguration programme said this labour bazaar will facilitate the employment of hundreds of jobless people who are migrating to the city every year from the villages.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Osmani Udyan in the capital, organised by the co-operative.
He said, the co-operative would assist and train up the jobless street people for jobs like loading-unloading, mason, technical jobs of WASA, DESA, DESCO, BTRC and DCC.
He said the organisation will also educate Tokais at free of cost and will feed and employ them to suitable jobs.
"Our dream is to make the life of the street children like other children normal", film hero Masum Parvez Rubel said while inaugurating the programme as the chief guest.
Rubel said, "We have a dream to educate and make the street children's life normal. I wish this co-operative will succeed in its efforts."
Rubel, also chief adviser of the co-operative said, "This labour bazaar will work as a common platform for the job- seekers and it will give them support during their unemployment".
Treasurer of the co-operative Md Reaz Uddin told the FE that the Co-operative has also a saving wing, a rehabilitation cell for drug addicts and a health cell.
He informed that their organisation has now nearly 500 members of which 482 are minors.
The Co-operative locally known as "Tokai Ghar" runs its activities at Osmani Udyan.
