Upcoming global student competitions

In this era of competitiveness and the relentless thirst to prove one's worth, student competitions have created an irrevocable buzz. Globalisation today has settled in on every shape. Everyone pursues excellence of a global standard. Students now venture into platforms that offer global recognition. The entire idea of being a global citizen, participating in a globally standardised challenge, experiencing an international environment and most importantly - glorifying one's country is an enticing prospect. Universities have been accommodating this growing demand and coming up with platforms suitable for students belonging to the entire spectrum of academia. Some of such are anticipated upcoming competitions that students could be looking forward to participate.
Queen's entrepreneurs' competition 2016
This is  one of the largest business case competitions around the world, it has not been ventured into by undergrad students of Bangladesh as of yet. On receiving numerous business plans from around the world, the panel chooses the Top 15 who are summoned in Toronto, Canada to pitch in their entrepreneurial ideas in front of a panel of Canadian business leaders. The prize money from this competition is one of the highest that has ever been offered by any business competition. There are over +$60,000 prizes awarded throughout the final weekend for the top pitching entrepreneurs. The platform fosters a vibrant exchange of ideas, unmatched innovation and an efficient networking medium for the next generation innovators.   It is time the well-deserving bright minds of Bangladesh put up with this challenge and succeed through. Thought for food challenge 2015-16
TFF Challenge is another competitive global platform that puts the participants in a test revolving around a great imminent crisis. Participants are instructed to identify the predicament of feeding  nine billion people of the earth by 2050 and craft a break-through business idea that can realistically combat this particular issue. The challenge highly recognises scalability and feasibility of the proposition offered by the participants as prime judging criteria. This prestigious and crucial competition has already been won by students of Bangladesh last year. Global applications and submissions of teams must be made by December 1, 2015. Among the lot, 10 teams will be selected for round 2 and invited to join the TFF Bootcamp in Switzerland. The teams will be running for providing a feasible solution for a global crisis, and a grand prize of $10,000 to kickstart the project.

Valeo Innovation Challenge 2016
Valeo concentrates more on the tech-savvy students who aspire to redefine the automotive of the future. It challenges the participants to design a car of 2030 that abides by the technologically advanced criteria - Green, Intelligence, Intuition and Fun. Teams of two to five can submit their comprehensive ideas, out of them 8 finalists will be selected and flown to Paris, France for their final presentation by October 2016. Preliminary entries are expected to sign up by January 2016. . The competition will offer $5000 to the top 25 semi-finalist teams to design the prototypes. However, they will offer $100,000 to the top teams in two categories. The runner-up teams of both the categories will also be offered $10,000.

International Robotics Challenge 2016
This competition is a part of International Challenge event organised in Techfest, IIT Bombay which will be held from December 26, 2015 to December 28, 2015. The main challenge is to design and create a manual and autonomous bot that will be capable of coordinating each other. A team of maximum 5 members are eligible to participate in this competition. The winning team will be awarded with a total sum of INR 4.5 lakh. Teams are required to register in the following link in order to participate in the Techfest:

Solvay Business Game 2016
This is yet another huge platform for business enthusiasts. It is conducted in collaboration with partners like Godfather, McKinsey and Company Marketing Challenge, Unilever Strategy Challenge, Degroof Petercam Negotiation Challenge, BDO Online Challenge andLidl. It is an annual real-life business competition, with 400 participants selected from over 1200 global applicants, making it the largest onstage business game in Europe. Solvay is unique and real-life due to its compressed schedule of cramming six different competitions within two intense days. The thorough series of competitions include an Online Challenge, Marketing Challenge, Strategy Challenge, Negotiation Challenge, Pitch Challenge and Eloquence Challenge. The two intense days give the participants a thorough taste of real-life business along with rewards offered from the partners. Registration began from October 13, 2015.
