Use of alternative media for branding stressed

Participants at the Digital Marketing Summit 2012 Saturday shared their knowledge on the use of various tools to prepare effective online strategy in marketing for the growth of their business and brands.
ARRIVAL Go Brand, a marketing communication organisation, arranged the Digital Marketing Summit at the BRAC Centre Inn with the slogan "Live Digital, Lead Digital, Go Digital".
The summit was all about digital marketing strategy and building brand through digital media. It was a unique rendezvous of leading minds and leaders from different marketing arena.
The summit was aimed at making the marketing professionals, entrepreneurs, businessmen, Next Gen marketers, students and media agencies understand the strategic impact of digitalisation, with case studies from leading brands as well as analyses from leading marketing professionals, business experts and speakers.
The participants were told about the process of developing and executing digital marketing by local and international experts at the summit. Presentations on different marketing strategies were made at the function.
Later, Md Nazrul Islam Khan, PS-1 to Prime Minister and National Project Director Support to Digital Bangladesh Project, Habibullah N Karim, CEO, Technohaven, founding General Secretary (BASIS), Co Author of 'Going Digital' book, Naveed Mahbub, Country Head, IBM Bangladesh, Jonathan Nguyen, Regional Strategy Director - Social Media & Director, Measurement (APAC) Ogilvy's regional office, Hong Kong, Arild Klokkerhaug, President, (NCCI) Nordic Chamber, Aftab Mahmud Khurhsid, CMO, Go Brand Arrival and Sayed Farhad Ahmed, Managing Director of Aamra took part in a panel discussion.
They discussed about various phenomenon of ICT and future development of marketing through the use of digital spaces in Bangladesh.
Mr Khan highlighted some initiatives of the government for Rural ICT development. Rural connectivity and access to information will be improved soon, he said.
CMO of ARRIVAL GoBrand Aftab Mahmud Khurshid marked the event as the first of its kinds in Bangladesh. Such event would be held every year from now on, he declared.
The speakers laid stress on using alternative and most cost effective media to market products and service brands.
They said social media could help to change mindset and enhance business opportunities.
