JAKARTA, July 7 (Xinhua): The Indonesian government was upbeat to achieve the economic growth target of 6.3 per cent this year despite little state spending in the first half of the year, an official said today.
"The economy grew by 5.97 per cent in the first quarter, that makes me confident that we can achieve the 6.3 per cent full year target," State Minister for National Development Planning Paskah Suzetta was quoted by the national Antara news agency as saying.
The finance ministry reported earlier this week first-half state spending was estimated at 288.4 trillion rupiah (about 32 billion US dollars), representing only 37.8 per cent of full year target.
