Janata Bank holds prize distribution ceremony

Janata Bank gave special rewards to seven outstanding loan recovery performers. The bank assigned thirty-five executives, officers and employees to recover classified loan last year, said a press release.
Chairman of board of directors Suhel Ahmed Choudhury distributed the award among the recipients at a simple ceremony held at its boardroom recently. CEO and MD of the bank S M Aminur Rahman and other members of the board of directors were present on the occasion.
In 2007, total classified loan of the bank was Tk 19.23 billion that was 17.21pc of total loans and advances of the bank.
Last year a total of Tk 9.23 billion was recovered. The classified loan was Tk 14.63 billion that was 10.92pc of the total loans and advances of the bank.
Effective recovery technique, introduced by the management and the declaration of special incentive on recovery helped achieve the significant result.
