THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Aug 5 (PTI): Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan yesterday asked the newspaper wage boards to submit proposals on wage revisions without delay.
Speaking to the Wage Board Chairman Justice Narayana Kurup and other members who called on him here, he also sought a sympathetic consideration of employees' demand for 60 per cent interim relief.
He said the state government would ask the centre to set up a mechanism for working out wage structures and service conditions for journalists and non-journalists in electronic media as well.
He said Kerala was the first state to implement a pension scheme for journalists and non-journalist employees in the media.
The government was also supporting a medical insurance scheme for journalists.
