ISLAMABAD, Jul 16 (APP): Bilateral trade between Pakistan and China would be increased to $15 billion in next five years, said Pakistan's Ambassador to China Salman Bashir yesterday.
Talking to PTV the ambassador said trade between the two countries has increased over the past few years to five billion dollar, which would be increased to $15 billion in the next five years.
He said Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Pakistan and China, which was signed in Islamabad in November last year, would help enhance two-way trade between the two countries.
He said, "I am very confident that this FTA, which covers goods and investments will help enhance two-way trade between the two countries."
Salman Bashir said both the countries have immense potential in terms of economic and trade cooperation to further strengthen bilateral trade ties.
Besides FTA, he said negotiations were also being held on trade and services sectors on the fast track. "We are confident that very soon, hopefully within this year, we will add the services sector to the FTA to make it more comprehensive," the Pak ambassador to China added.
