'Rate hike might trigger risk to China's economy'

BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhua): Chinese economist calls on the government not to increase bank interest at present.
Lu Zhengwei, chief macro-economy analyst of the Industrial Bank, said that the interest rate hike, if realised these days, would impose fairly high risk to China's economy.
The expectation of another interest rate rise further heightened recently on Zhou Xiaochuan's words that more muscled policies would be taken to ease price hike as well as the result of the central bank's investigation, which shows that more than half respondents expect the third quarter would see more price rise.
