UAE vows to contain inflation rate within 5pc

ABU DHABI, Mar 13 (Xinhua): A senior official of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said yesterday that his government is taking measures to contain the country's inflation rate within five per cent this year, Emirates News Agency reported.
The UAE government is trying to tame soaring prices of commodities and services through economic and social policies, Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri was quoted as saying.
The UAE ministry of economy is joining forces with relevant authorities to combat monopoly and any kind of exploitation that could threaten the market stability, the minister said.
