NEW DELHI, Nov 15 (PTI): The World Economic Forum (WEF) which said India remains "vulnerable" to the global financial crisis will be holding a brainstorm here beginning Sunday among political leaders, captains of the industry and policy-makers here immediately after the Group of Twenty (G20) summit in Washington.
This year, the WEF's India economic summit is taking place in the backdrop of the international financial system landing itself in turmoil that has started spilling over to other critical sectors of the economies, including manufacturing.
"This year's summit is very timely with respect to understanding the evolution of the global economic crisis and its future impact on India's economic and political landscape," WEF Senior Director W Lee Howell told reporters here Friday.
WEF, in its report released yesterday, said India remains "vulnerable to the vagaries of the world currency, commodity and financial markets".
The IES, being co-organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, would have received the policy direction from heads of governments and states of 20 developed and developing countries meeting in Washington.
