11 businessmen initially selected as CIPs

The National Committee for Industrial Development (NCID) has initially selected 11 leading businessmen and chamber leaders for awarding them the status of commercially important persons (CIPs).
The trade leaders will be finally selected after scrutiny of their tax files.
The NCID under the Ministry of Industry recently sent the names to the National Board of Revenue (NBR) for its opinion on tax matters concerning the selected persons.
The 11 persons include - the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) president, Mir Nasir Hossain, the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) president, Hossain Khaled, the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), president Latifur Rahman, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) president Anwar-ul-Alam Parvez,Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) president Saifuzzman Chowdhury and Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) president Abdul Hai Sarker, Women Entrepreneurs Association of Bangladesh (WEAB) President Nasreen Awal Mintoo, Foreign Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) president Masih Ul Karim, National Association of Small and Cottage Industries of Bangladesh (NASSCIB) president Mirza Nurul Gani Shovon, Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) acting president MA Shahed and Bangladesh Jute Mills Association (BJMA) president Kamran T Rahman.
