21.9m smokers in country

About 23 per cent of Bangladesh adults above 15 years of age smoke. The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS)-2009 available Saturday said an estimated 21.9 million adults, including 21.2 million males and 0.7 million females, are smokers in the country. —BSS
