298 promoted to deputy secretaries

The government has promoted 298 senior assistant secretaries to deputy secretaries in the latest spell of mass promotion. An establishment ministry circular, signed Wednesday, made the announcement. Last week, 158 officials were promoted to joint secretaries. Of those promoted, 59 are from the ninth and 10th batches of BCS cadres and they were left out during the last promotion, while 147 were from the 13th batch.
