In Cumilla, at least 12 people were killed and five others injured as a train crashed into a bus on Padua Bazar level crossing in Cumilla early Sunday.
Among the deceased were seven men, three women and two children, said Assistant Director of Cumilla Fire Service Mohammad Idris.
On information, members of the army, police, fire service and Red Crescent rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations.
In Naogaon, a tractor driver and his helper were killed and another helper injured in a road accident at Khanpukur area under Raninagar upazila of the district on Thursday.
The accident took place around 11:30 am when the tractor driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a roadside tree. The brick-laden tractor was heading towards Abadpukur from Raninagar.
The deceased were identified as driver Rabbi 25, son of Muslim of Chakkutub area, and helper Himel 25, son of Sardar Ali of Trimohoni area of the upazila. Another helper, Atikul, 17, son of Rezaul Islam of Chakkutub area was injured in the accident.
In Bhola, a CNG-run autorickshaw driver was killed and five passengers were injured in a head-on collision with a pickup truck in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola on Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred on the Bhola-Char Fashion road, north of Kunjerhat Bazar.
The deceased was identified as Md Salauddin, 45.
According to police and witnesses, the CNG was heading towards Char Fashion from Bhola carrying passengers ahead of Eid when it collided head-on with an egg-laden pickup coming from the opposite direction near Kunjerhat.
In Tangail, a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on the Jamuna Bridge Dhaka-Tangail Highway on Thursday.
The deceased is Sagar Mia, 28, son of late Rahim Uddin of Baganbari area under Ghoraghat upazila in Dinajpur district.
The accident occurred in Ashekpur Bypass area when an unidentified vehicle hit a motorcycle, leaving its rider Sagar dead on the spot, said Mahbubur Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) of Elenga Highway Police Outpost.
In Mymensingh, two people, including a woman, were killed and at least 15 others injured when a passenger bus hit two auto-rickshaws in Bhaluka on Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred in front of Tafrid Cotton Mill in the Club Bazar area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway.
In Rajshahi, a truck helper was killed in a road accident in Natore district on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Lam,21,son of Azad Mia of Sirajnagar village in Daultpur upazilaof kushtia district.
In Gopalganj, an employee of Sadarpur West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL) in Faridpur was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a tree in the Baikunthapur area under Kalabari union of Kotalipara upazila in the district around 8am on Saturday.
The deceased, Shariful Islam, 30, a switch board attendant, was the son of Moksed Ali Sheikh of Tupuria village in Kotalipara upazila.
In Chattogram, one person was killed and two others critically injured when a passenger bus overturned at the Bhatikhaine road head area on the Patiya bypass of the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway on Saturday.
The identity of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
In Chuadanga, an 18-year-old youth was killed and another injured when a speeding motorcycle lost control and hit a roadside tree in Chuadanga on Saturday, the Eid day.
The deceased was identified as Suruj, son of Swapan, a resident of Islampara in Chuadanga Municipal area.
In Feni, three people were killed and at least five others injured as a bus ploughed through a crowd at Rampur on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Feni early Sunday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-Charge of Mohipal Highway Police Station Asadul Islam said repair work was underway on a bridge along the highway and vehicles were moving slowly on Chattogram-bound lane.
In Sunamganj, two people were killed and one injured after a motorcycle lost control and crashed into a tree in the Gagli area along the Sunamganj-Dirai road under Shantiganj upazila of the district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as motorcyclist Saidul Islam, 30, son of Akkel Ali of Muktakhai village in Shantiganj and pillion Safiqul Islam, 28, son of late Ukil Ali of the same village.
In Bogura, a 13-year-old boy was killed after being run over by a truck in Nandigram upazila of Bogura.
The accident occurred on Sunday in the Dhundar Bazar area on the Kadamkuri-Penghajki regional road under Burail Union.
The deceased, Utsab, was the son of Sri Bikash Chandra of Moria village in the same union.
In Kishoreganj, the death toll from a tragic road accident in Kuliarchar upazila of the district has risen to three, following a head-on collision between a pickup van and a motorcycle on Sunday.
The accident occurred in Dariyakandi area along the Kishoreganj-Bhairab highway on Sunday afternoon, according to police sources.
Two victims were killed on the spot, while another succumbed to his injuries later while being taken to Dhaka for advanced treatment.
The deceased were identified as Bijoy, 18, son of Sabbir Bhuiyan of Dariyakandi village, Zakir Hossain, 18, son of Abdul Hai Ripon of Madhyapara village and Jeet Barman, 19, son of Jatindra Chandra Barman of Kailanpur Tiakata area in Kuliarchar municipality.
Police and local witnesses said the three friends were traveling together on a motorcycle toward Dariyakandi when a pickup van coming from the opposite direction collided with them. Bijoy and Zakir died instantly at the scene, while Jeet sustained critical injuries after being thrown off the road.
In Kishoreganj, two teenage motorcyclists were killed and another was seriously injured after a pickup van ran over their motorcycle in Kuliarchar of Kishoreganj.
The deceased were identified as Bijoy, 18, and his friend Jabir Hossain, 18, both residents of Dariakandi.
The injured youth was rescued and taken to Jahurul Islam Medical College and Hospital.
In Feni, three people were killed and at least five others injured in a collision involving a bus, an ambulance, and a motorcycle in the Rampur area of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway near Feni town on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Md. Morshed, 39, son of late Moktadur Rahman, from Bangla Motor, New Eskaton, Ramna, Dhaka, Md. Sohag Rahman , 31, son of Md. Mojibur Rahman, Shahidnagar, Lalbagh, Dhaka and Mohammad Kayes, 25, supervisor of Doel Paribahan bus, son of Ahmad Kabir, Hashimpur, Chandanaish, Chattogram.
In Lakshmipur, a businessman was killed and three others were injured in a road accident in Sutargupta area on the Lakshmipur-Ramgati road under Sadar upazila of the district in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased was Shafiq Ullah, 45, of Sujan village under Ramgati upazila of the district.
In Habiganj, four people including a woman were killed in a fatal road accident in Andiura area of Madhabpur upazila of the district on Sunday.
Police said the accident occurred when a Sylhet-bound pickup collided head-on with a bus in the area. The pickup fell into a roadside ditch leaving four passengers of the pickup killed on the spot, police added.
