7 new public edn institutions to be set up in city

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid Friday said the government is going to set up some 17 new public educational institutions (of which 11 are government secondary schools and six are public colleges) in Dhaka City Corporation area costing Tk 4.35 billion. The construction work of these institutions will begin soon. The minister said this while visiting city's Hazaribagh area Friday. Barrister Fazle Nur Taposh, MP, Education Secretary, Director General of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Directorate and Chief Engineer of Education Engineering Directorate were present on the occasion. A school and a college would be constructed at Kalunagar under Hazaribag thana. - UNB
