70pc wage hike for mill workers suggested

National Pay Commission (NPC) has recommended 70 per cent raise in the wages of the workers of state-owned mills and factories. The commission, formed to aid the government on the revision of wages of the workers of government-run mills and factories, submitted its report with recommendations to finance minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith Wednesday.

Tangail road crash kills 6
TANGAIL, Oct 19: Six people were killed and 10 others injured as a bus ploughed through a group of people at Solla in Kalihati upazila Wednesday morning. A truck was badly damaged after being hit by another truck and the local people from nearby Solla village gathered at the spot after the accident. - UNB
Degree exams under NU
begin today
Degree pass and certificate course examinations-2010 under the National University (NU) will begin from today (Thursday). The examinations will start at 2pm, said a release of NU. A total of 4,26,279 candidates from 1,484 colleges will sit for the examinations at 615 centres across the country.
