The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved submission of final reports in yet another 69 graft cases involving 103 individuals including former BNP lawmaker Nasir Uddin Pintu, as allegations against them could not be proved, reports UNB.
ACC Director General (admin) Col Hanif Iqbal told a regular briefing Thursday afternoon that the Commission approved submission of the final reports in those 69 cases in November last.
Apart from Pintu, there are other government officials and employees, representatives of municipalities and union councils, bank and insurance officials and individuals belonging to other professions, who are going to get off the hook.
According to another report, the ACC is poised to press charges against detained former Communications Minister Barrister Nazmul Huda in a graft case for allegedly causing loss to the exchequer.
Former chief engineer of the Roads and Highways Department ARM Anwar Hossain will also be charge-sheeted in the same case.
ACC Director General (admin) Col Hanif Iqbal told journalists at a regular briefing Thursday that the anti-graft watchdog approved the submission of charge sheet in the case against the senior BNP leader and the ex-chief engineer.
The Commission has also approved charge-sheets against 18 other persons in eight graft cases, including former state minister AKM Jahangir Hussein, former ambassador Nazim Ullah Chowdhury and incumbent joint-secretary (OSD) Rafiqul-e-Mohammad.
