The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is likely to discuss at its regular meeting Sunday the alleged fraudulent act of tampering with LLB mark-sheet by High Court Judge Faisal Mahmud Faizee who resigned Thursday, reports UNB
Since Faizee quit the judiciary, now the ACC could take measures to prosecute him for his fraudulent act brought against him by the Chittagong University authorities, sources at the Commission said.
On March 3 this year, the CU authorities cancelled Faizee's LLB certificate on charge of tempering with his mark-sheet.
In 1999, the CU Syndicate scrapped the results of some 2,400 students of the university in different examinations following an inquiry into the allegations of faking results.
The investigation proved that the students, including Faizee, had tampered with their mark-sheets.
After publication of the cancelled results, the CU authorities communicated the matter along with relevant documents with the anti-graft watchdog for taking necessary legal actions against the accused.
On August 23, 2004, the then BNP-led 4-party alliance government had made Faizee judge of the High Court along with 18 others.
The appointments had evoked resentment among the lawyers of the Supreme Court Bar as they complained of political considerations.
After nine weeks of his appointment as a judge, a newspaper report leaked out that Faizee managed his LLB certificate through a fraudulent act.
