The Cabinet Division on Tuesday published the wealth statements of advisers of the interim government, just two days ahead of national elections, in a move aimed at enhancing transparency.
According to an official notification, asset disclosures of 27 individuals - including the chief adviser, advisers, special assistants to the chief adviser and their spouses - have been made public, although details for two key appointees were missing.
However, no information was provided for Chief Adviser's special assistant Prof Ali Riaz and the Chief Adviser's envoy for international affairs, Lutfey Siddiqi.
The statement showed that Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus held total assets worth Tk 156 million between 30 June 2024 and 30 June 2025.
A year earlier, his total assets stood at Tk 140 million, indicating an increase of Tk 16 million over the one-year period.
In contrast, the wealth of the Chief Adviser's wife, Dr Afrozi Yunus, declined to Tk 12.76 million by June 2025 from Tk 21.17 million a year earlier.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed's assets rose marginally to Tk 71.61 million as of June last year, compared with Tk 71.04 million recorded a year earlier.
Meanwhile, Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin's assets increased to Tk 916.51 million by June 2025, up from Tk 911.09 million in the previous year.
The total assets of Planning Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud rose to Tk 162.29 million (Tk 16.22 crore) at the end of June 2025, up from Tk 150.91 million (Tk 15.09 crore) a year earlier.
Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul's wealth increased to Tk 16.09 million (Tk 1.60 crore) in June 2025 from Tk 14.81 million (Tk 1.48 crore) in the previous year.
Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain's assets grew to Tk 29.31 million (Tk 2.93 crore) from Tk 28.68 million (Tk 2.86 crore) a year earlier.
Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam's assets rose to Tk 27.72 million (Tk 2.77 crore) at the end of June 2025, up from Tk 26.16 million (Tk 2.61 crore) in June 2024.
Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan's total assets increased to Tk 25.29 million (Tk 2.52 crore) by June 2025 from Tk 9.82 million (Tk 0.98 crore) a year earlier.
Food Adviser Ali Imam Majumder's assets climbed to Tk 38.89 million (Tk 3.88 crore) from Tk 33.71 million (Tk 3.37 crore) in the previous year.
Education Adviser Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar's assets rose to Tk 75.74 million (Tk 7.57 crore) from Tk 70.20 million (Tk 7.02 crore) a year earlier.
Energy Adviser Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan's assets increased to Tk 67.25 million (Tk 6.72 crore) from Tk 64.72 million (Tk 6.47 crore) in the previous year.
In contrast, Adviser Syeda Rezwana Hasan's assets declined to Tk 11.27 million (Tk 1.12 crore) in June 2025 from Tk 22.56 million (Tk 2.25 crore) a year earlier.
