'Akheri munajat' today

The three-day annual Muslim congregation Biswa Ijtema ends today (Sunday) through the 'akheri munajat' on the banks of the Turag River at Tongi the, reports BSS.
A couple of million devotees from home and abroad are participating in the second largest congregation of the Muslims after Hajj. They have already thronged the Ijtema ground, organisers said.
More people from all walks of life will join the 'akheri munajat' before the Zohr prayers.
Devotees were pouring into the Ijtema ground and its adjoining areas late in the evening.
President Zillur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Khaleda Zia, ministers, MPs, political leaders and senior officials are expected to join the concluding prayers along with millions of devotees.
Six persons died of various health complications in two days in the Ijtema.
About 25,000 devotees from some 90 foreign countries have already joined the congregation, organisers said.
