Amjad Khan Chowdhury (Retd), Mana­ging Director & Chief Executive Officer, PRAN-RFL Group of Companies has been re-elected President of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (MCCI), Dhaka for the year 2012. The Chamber's new committee at its first meeting held on Monday re-elected Mr. Amjad Khan to the post of President, says a MCCI press release. Mr. Chowdhury is one of the most successful personalities in Bangladesh business circles, it said, adding he has provided leadership to business community in different capacities. A leading entrepreneur, Mr. Chowdhury has investments in light engineering, plastic & PVC pipe, milk products and processed agricultural produce, confectioneries, juices, farm equipment, etc. and is playing a pioneering role in the field of agro processing industry in the country. Nihad Kabir, Bar-at-Law, Senior Partner of Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed & Associates has also been re-elected Vice President of the MCCI, Dhaka, the press release added. Ms.Nihad Kabir is also director of BRAC Bank Limited, Infrastructure Development Co.Ltd. and Kedarpur Tea Co. Ltd. Other members of the MCCI Committee are: Syed Tareque Md.
