Anis Ud Dowla new MCCI chief

Chairman of ACI Group of Companies, Anis Ud Dowla, has been elected president of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Tuesday for 2010.
The new committee of the chamber elected Mr Anis, who has investments in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, insurance, motor vehicles, food, agriculture equipments and seeds etc, as president during its first meeting in the capital, a MCCI statement said.
This is his fourth term in the top post of the country's oldest and most representative trade organisation, established in 1904.
Mr Anis, one of the most successful entrepreneurs, was president of MCCI in 1977, 1978 and 1995. He was also the president of Bangladesh Employers' Federation for the term 2003-2005.
Syed Nasim Manzur, managing director of Apex Adelchi Footwear Limited, has been re-elected as the vice president.
