BAB sits with SEC today to discuss stock market

The representatives of Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB), a platform of the bank owners, sit today (Tuesday) with the securities regulator to hold a discussion on the overall stock market situation, officials have said.
The officials of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said the scheduled meeting would be held at the SEC board room at 3.0pm.
They said at the meeting the bank owners would make an overview of the existing situation of the market.
The bankers will also discuss the launch of their proposed Tk 50 billion mutual fund to rejuvenate the market.
As sponsors, the banks will initially contribute Tk 10 billion as part of their stock market stabilisation fund (SMSF).
