The latest revelation of information about offshore companies in the Bahamas, one of the world's largest tax havens, has two names linked with Bangladesh.

International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) unveil the 'Bahamas Leaks' on Wednesday.

It shows names of two entities: Esso Exploration and Production Bangladesh and Pangea (Bangladesh) Energy Ltd. The two companies were registered in Bahamas, a coral-based archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, in 1997.

However, no direct link with Bangladesh was found for these two entities, as found for some others in Panama Papers early this year. It is assumed that only the name of Bangladesh was used by third parties.

The Leaks provide information of more than 175,000  companies, trusts and foundations, registered between 1990 and early 2016 in Bahamas.
