Ban Ki-Moon due in city today

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, accompanied by his spouse Ban Soon-taek, arrives in the city today (Saturday) afternoon on a two-day visit, reports UNB.
Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury will receive him at Zia International Airport at 5:30pm.
Immediately after his arrival, the UN secretary general will hold official talks with the foreign adviser at Sonargaon Hotel when UN development programmes in the country and Bangladesh's UN peacekeeping missions are expected to figure prominently.
The Chief Adviser will host a dinner in honour of the UN chief in the evening.
Ban Ki-Moon will call on President Iajuddin Ahmed and Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed tomorrow (Sunday).
He is also likely to meet some political leaders.
The UN secretary general will visit the National Mausoleum at Savar to pay homage to the martyrs of the Liberation War.
He will visit a UNDP-funded Comprehensive Disaster Management Project in Sirajganj and a Grameen project site in Bogra.
