The government will form a commission titled 'Bangladesh Competition Commission' to help implement the proposed Competition Act-2011. The draft act, approved by the cabinet on October 17, will be placed in parliament soon. It will be effective following enactment in the Jatiya Sangsad. The draft act was formulated by the commerce ministry. The government expressed the hope that the investment and employment in the country will increase significantly if the proposed act is implemented. - UNB
