BD sees zero Covid death

Bangladesh reported zero death from Covid-19 on Tuesday after more than three months, with the virus test positivity rate declining further to 1.54 per cent.
Previously, zero fatality was reported in the country on December 9, December 4, November 20 and November 5 of 2021, according to the official data.
On the other hand, Covid-19 test positivity rate was reported at 1.75 per cent in the country on Monday.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported 217 Covid-19 cases during the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on Tuesday, down from the previous day's 239.
With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from coronavirus reached 29,112 since the virus was detected first in the country in March 2020.
A total of 14,059 samples were tested and 14,074 samples were collected across the country during the last 24 hours until 8:00 am on the day.
Besides, 1,600 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time. The rate of recovery was reported at 95.61 per cent.
On the other hand, the rate of fatalities from Covid-19 remained static at 1.49 per cent.
According to official data, the total Covid-19 cases almost touched 1.95 million in Bangladesh, and more than 1.86 million of them recovered from the deadly disease.
Over 13.66 million samples were tested across the country since the virus was detected in the country.
