BD sees zero Covid death, 51 fresh cases

Fifty-one Covid-19 cases and zero death were reported in Bangladesh on Sunday.
With the latest daily counts, the total fatalities from coronavirus reached 29124 and the total caseload crossed 1.58 million since the virus was detected in the country in March 2020, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported.
A total of 4,896 samples were tested until 8:0am on the day while 4,892 samples were collected during the period, the DGHS data revealed.
However, the Covid-19 test positivity rate slightly inched down to 1.04 per cent on the day against the previous day's 1.28 per cent.
On the other hand, a total of 326 people recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country during the last 24-hour reporting time. The rate of recovery was 96.85 per cent on the day, it added.
On the other hand, the rate of fatalities from coronavirus disease remained static at 1.49 per cent. Until Sunday, 1.89 million people recovered from the deadly disease.
However, about 13.92 million samples have, so far, been tested in the country, according to official data.
