Biman to formalise $1.26b deal with Boeing by month-end

Biman will formalise the $1.26 billion deal with American aircraft-maker Boeing in the United States for the delivery of eight latest-generation commercial jets to begin in 2013, officials said Tuesday.

The limping airliner has already entered into the final accord with the Seattle goliath in Dhaka, placing the biggest order in its history. The deal includes a firm order for four Boeing-777-300 ER and four Being-787-8 and options for an additional four.

"The signing will take place in the last week of June," a senior Biman official said.
